What the Green Seal Means

A Green Seal Certification Mark on a product means that it has been put through stringent evaluations to ensure its reduced impact on the environment and on human health. We take a life-cycle approach, evaluating a product from its raw materials through the manufacturing process and ending with recycling or disposal.

Only products that pass these rigorous science-based evaluations, including on-site plant inspections, can earn certification.

But the Green Seal means more than just passing the tests: It also means that the product works as well as or better than others in its class, and that it has been evaluated without bias or conflict of interest.

Who Is Green Seal?

Green Seal is an independent, non-profit organization recognized by the industry and strives to achieve a healthier, cleaner environment. Green Seal's evaluations are based on state of the art science and internationally recognized methods and presiders.

Green Seal provides credible, objective, and unbiased information whose only purpose is to direct the purchase to environmentally responsible products and service.This product meets Green Seal's environmental GS-40 standard for industrial and institutional cleaners based on its reduced human and aquatic toxicity and reduced smog production potential.

Green Seal Approved Household Cleaners

These cleaners contain no carcinogens, reproductive toxins or mutagens, among other toxic compounds. They are not toxic to aquatic life and are biodegradable. Animal testing is discouraged. The packaging contains post-consumer content and is recyclable or uses bags/pouches that reduce packaging.
